About this chapter and its real-world inspiration

This fictional outreach route is inspired by the 2024 Wayne County / Vision To Learn partnership. The campus and outreach stations are illustrative, not actual school locations. Qualified providers perform eye care; your crew coordinates outreach.

Tony and the organizer duo appear in fictional dialogue. Gameplay rewards are separate from real-world giving.

THE REAL PARTNERSHIP / OCTOBER 2024

A clearer view of what's possible.

Wayne County committed $1.75 million to expand Vision To Learn's school-based eye care. Health Director Abdul El-Sayed joined County Executive Warren Evans and Vision To Learn at an event in Highland Park. Senator Debbie Stabenow secured additional federal support.

The announced funding was intended to help serve another 10,000 students. That was a goal - not a completed count. Vision To Learn's clinicians, school staff, families and public partners make the work happen.
